Dawn M. Goeres' career in law is rooted in a lifetime of diverse experiences and a passion for justice.

At just 18 years old, she joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a military policeman, becoming the first woman honor graduate of A Co., 787th Battalion OSUT military police training, where she earned the title of expert marksman.

After her honorable discharge, she pursued undergraduate degrees in theater and administration of justice at Southern Illinois University, graduating cum laude in both fields.

Dawn began her career as a correctional officer with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, balancing this demanding role while attending law school. These early experiences shaped her commitment to the legal profession and equipped her with a deep understanding of the justice system.

Dawn focuses on insurance law, leveraging more than 20 years of industry experience to advocate for clients facing insurance disputes. Her career includes roles as an adjuster, claims manager, and assistant vice president at an AM Best A+ rated insurer. She has tried over 30 cases to verdict, with an impressive track record of success.

With knowledge and experience that encompasses insurance coverage analysis, fraud investigations, policy drafting, and mediation, Dawn is an invaluable asset to clients seeking justice against underpaying insurers. With Red Dirt Legal, she helps Oklahomans navigate complex insurance issues, fighting to hold corporations accountable.

Dawn’s personal journey enables her to connect deeply with her clients. Having been self-sufficient since the age of 17, she worked her way through college and law school while juggling multiple jobs, including waitressing, theater work, and law enforcement. Her resilience and adaptability inspire her approach to client advocacy.

Outside the courtroom, Dawn finds joy in her two beloved dogs, Gozer and Fonzie, and the independence of a life she’s built through perseverance. She remains grounded by her personal philosophy: being at peace with her life empowers her to help others.
